1. Purpose and scope
These Terms of Use (ToU) govern access to and use of the Lexavo mobile application, published by Lexavo SRL (hereinafter "Lexavo").
By downloading, installing or using the application, you accept these ToU without reservation. If you do not accept these terms, you must immediately cease all use of the application.
2. Description of the service
Lexavo is a legal information tool based on artificial intelligence, designed to provide general information on Belgian law (employment law, civil law, tax law, etc.).
The application uses language models (Claude by Anthropic) and a documentary database drawn from Belgian official sources (Juridat, EUR-Lex, HUDOC, Belgian Official Gazette, etc.) to generate informative responses.
3. Important warning — Not legal advice
⚠️ ESSENTIAL WARNING
The information and responses generated by Lexavo are for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. They in no way constitute:
• Legal advice within the meaning of the Act of 13 April 1995 on the practice of the legal profession;
• Professional legal opinion;
• Representation in court.
For any important legal decision, you must consult a lawyer registered with the bar.
4. Access conditions
Use of Lexavo is reserved for persons of legal age (18 or older) or for legal entities acting through an authorised legal representative.
You undertake to use the application lawfully and in accordance with these ToU, and not to use it for purposes contrary to public order or morality.
5. Liability
Lexavo SRL strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information but does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy or timeliness of the information provided.
Lexavo SRL cannot be held liable for:
• Decisions made on the basis of the information provided by the application;
• Errors or omissions in the generated responses;
• Direct or indirect damage resulting from the use of the application;
• Interruptions or unavailability of the service.
Lexavo SRL's liability is limited to the amount paid by the user for the subscription over the last 12 months.
6. Intellectual property
The Lexavo application, its content, source code, trademarks and graphic elements are the exclusive property of Lexavo SRL and are protected by Belgian and European intellectual property law.
Any reproduction, representation, modification or distribution, without the prior written authorisation of Lexavo SRL, is strictly prohibited.
The legal sources used (judgments, laws, regulations) are official public-law documents and are not subject to exclusive rights of Lexavo SRL.
7. Subscriptions and payments
Certain Lexavo features are available via a paid subscription. The pricing terms, payment methods and cancellation conditions are detailed in the "Subscription" section of the application.
Payments are processed by certified payment service providers (Stripe). Lexavo SRL stores no payment data.
In accordance with Book VI of the Code of Economic Law, you have a 14-calendar-day right of withdrawal for any online purchase.
8. Modification of the ToU
Lexavo SRL reserves the right to modify these ToU at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published in the application. By continuing to use the application after notification of the changes, you accept the new ToU.
9. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These ToU are governed by Belgian law.
In the event of a dispute relating to the interpretation or performance of these ToU, the parties undertake to seek an amicable solution. Failing this, the courts of the judicial district of Brussels shall have sole jurisdiction.
These ToU are drafted in French. In the event of a translation into another language, the French version shall prevail.
